T.I Paper Trailer Album Cover

This is the album cover of an american rapper T.I. This album cover is quite plain but is made up of different layers of paper which relates back to the album title 'Paper Trail'. The first thought that came into my head when I looked at this album cover was paper as that is the material used to create the cover.

I think that the artist who created this album cover was very creative and used a good technique of relating the album title to the album cover, it is made up of different types of paper to make the portrait image T.I's face. It looks like the artist has ripped up a load of paper and dropped them where it then has formed the image of T.I's face. It also could be represent the bits of paper being parts of a puzzle or a paper trail hence the album name and then it all coming together to create T.I's face.

Personally I like this album cover a lot because of the creativity that went into it to relate the image and the album name together. I especially like the way the ripped up pieces of paper create the portrait of T.I. This album cover and album is one of my favourites and I think the illustrator has done an extremely good job.

Friend and Foe Album Cover

This is an album cover which was illustrated by Craig Thompson called Friend and Foe. The first thing that came to my head when looking at this album cover was doodling. The images used in this piece are very random and graphic, it looks quite confusing but very amazing and interesting.

The technique used looks like it could of been hand drawn, each illustration is very defined, even though there is not much colour the album cover is still very eye catching and jumps out at you as soon as you look at it. I think that craig Thompson's idea was to make the front cover very defined and hectic so that the audience would see it and think that if the album cover is this exciting then the actual album must be even better. If you study the cover thoroughly you can see that the pink sections are the insides of different creatures and the smaller creatures all around them are in fact doing some sort of surgery on them. This all could represent the way the CD was created and the amount of work that went into it.

Personally I like this album cover a lot as it is quite random and you don't really know what to expect when listening the album that is inside. I think the illustrations are very graphic and busy which is a good technique as it gives the audience something to look and think about. Although there is hardly any colour used it is still quite eye catching, the colours that have been used are symbolic and represents the inside of the creatures and the eyes of the creatures.

Billie Jean Analysis

This is an advertisement for the Nike Vandal basketball trainer. The first thought that came into my head when I looked at this advertisement was school and the way students doodle in lessons as also the background of the poster is graph paper which is used in Maths Books, also the entire poster is drawn with which looks to be a blue biro pen which is also used in schools, the basketball in the image is a perfect circle which could have been drawn with two protractors put together which is also a pieces of Maths equipment.

The way the drawings overlap each other make it look like a work of art and again looks exactly like a doodle as a student would draw random pictures that came into their head. You can straight away see the trainer is a basketball trainer as their a number of basketballs and basketball images all over the poster. This trainer could also be quite old school as it has quite old symbols like the space invader, the rubix cube, the piece sign etc.

The trainer is the largest drawing which makes it the centre of attention with all the other smaller drawings around it. The way this poster is layed out and the technique represents what the trainer is about and looks like it has a historic meaning behind it.

Personally I like this advertisement a lot because of the doodle technique used and all of the old school symbolic images used. I think it advertises the trainer well and the technique is simple but very defined and exciting.

Typography Experiment

\

This is a photoshop edit i created of the rapper Nas. I used his lyrics in the background to add a effect and changed the colour to make it all blend in.
