How I created my Lino Print
The he first thing I did was draw out my design onto the Lino piece, I chose to go with Big Ben as it relates to my theme of London and is a popular landmark. After I drew it onto my piece of Lino I used the Lino cutting tool and carved out all of the lines of my drawing, I used a smaller Lino cutting tool for the small details. After I completed this I then used ink and a roller and rolled different colours of ink over my Lino Piece. I then put my Lino onto the Albion press and laid a piece of paper on top, i then pressed them down onto each other so that the link printed onto the paper leaving a nice glossy colourful print. I then did it again experimenting with different colours and also using one colour for one half and a different colour for the other half to make a creative half&half print.

Paper Installation

This is a paper installation that my group and I made from different coloured papers, tracing paper and paint. I started off my making a building out of black paper and folded it into a long building like shape. I then cut windows and a door out of it and decided to cut of small people figures and stick them in the windows to make it look more real and creative and look like a hotel. After I finished the Hotel I decided to cut out a giant person and make sun glasses out of coloured paper and draw a face on him to make it look like he was on holiday. I then painted a sky and a sun and decided to make the sun look like it was on holiday and painted sunglasses and a face with a beard on it to add some more creativeness and humour to the piece. The palm trees were added to make it look like an exotic island which were made from coloured paper and brown card.

I think that our Paper installation went well but there was room for a lot of improvement. I believe I should of cut out more windows to make it look more neater and realistic. The Hotel looks slightly plain and could have more eye catching features to it. The whole piece could have had more things in it to make it look more lively and fill up more space to make it look like a proper holiday scene. Overall I think the piece went well and is good. This could be one of my options to use for my final piece.

Paper Installation Review Sheets

The first sheet is a analysis I did of Paper. I described its characteristics, potentials, limitations, advantages and disadvantages. The second sheet is an analysis of the image at the top, I had to talk about the materials I could see that had been used, what I thought the purpose of the piece was, why I liked the piece and what I liked about it and also keywords I thought described the piece best.

Ana Serrano Analysis

This is a spectacular paper installation created by Ana Serrano which is of a party supply store and a mechanics garage. This piece straight away grabs my attention as it looks like real life chain of stores that you would come across in your every day life on the street. She has made it very realistic as she has added features to make the mechanics garage look dirty and added the barb wire and satellite dishes which works perfectly. The party store looks like a real life party stuff with the wide range of bright colours and eye catching graphics on the front of the characters. Also she has added images in the windows to make it look like you can see inside of the shop which is a great effect and looks very realistic.

The materials which look like they have been used in this piece are normal things you can buy in your local shop or stationary shop or even find around your home. The materials which looked like they have been used are paper, perforated card, glue, plastic, paper clips, paint, felt tips, pencils, pens, string and coloured paper. Serrano has used a wide range of techniques to complete this and has used all the materials to their full potential. Key words i would use to describe this are spectacular, creative, original, complex, realistic and eye catching.

I think that the artists intentions of this paper installation was to make the audience feel like its a real chain of stores that they pass on the street in their day to day lives. She wanted to make it look as realistic as possible and add even the smallest features that you would find on the real life version of the stores.

Personally I like this piece a lot because of the effort and creativeness that went into it and how the final outcome came out. It looks like a real life chain of stores and makes me feel like I can walk into them. I like the detail that went into it and the choice of colours, graphics and features that went into it. She has done a excellent job in making it look realistic and creative with the materials that she has used.

Sydney Opera art installation Analysis

This is the Sydney Opera art installation that was made by a group of about 10 people. The piece was made completely from every day materials that you could buy in a normal shop. The reason for making this was to win the chance to be able to travel to australia which is why they chose to make one of Australia's most popular places 'Sydney'.

From looking at the piece you can see that they have used materials such as paper in loads of different colours, paper clips, staples, cardboard, pens, pencils, elastic bands, string, crayons, glue, felt tips, markers, rubbers and tipex which they used to paint the sydney opera house. This work looks like a 3D fantasy of the real place and is very creative and unique. The keywords i would use to associate with this piece would be unique, creative, original, spectacular, and realistic.

Personally i like this piece a lot as it looks realistic and i like the way that they have used normal everyday stationary equipment to create something so complex and amazing. The creativeness that went into this creation is great and it they way it looks imaginary like its a fantasy place really is a nice sight. It makes you feel that when you look at it you want to jump down into it and treat it like a real place and walk around. The face that it was made by a small group of people makes it even more spectacular that with so little people such a big creation could be made and look as good as it does.

I think that when they was making this, their intensions were to make the audience feel like it was a real place and get their senses going to make them feel like they could be in the piece walking around like it is the real version. They succeeded with this made me feel like i was a part of it when looking at it.
